Uruka Lodge - Alajuela

I recently stayed at this charming family-run hotel for a few nights. From the moment I arrived, Sergio and his family made me feel incredibly welcome. The location, although a bit out of the way, was easy to find using Google Maps. The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful, with a lovely pool and a shared kitchen that I found very convenient. The WiFi worked well, and the breakfast included a variety of cereals, fruits, bread, coffee, and tea. Sergio even went above and beyond by giving me a ride to the airport early in the morning, and his wife prepared a delicious breakfast to take with me. a wonderful experience!

The location of the lodge is convenient, being just a short drive from the airport. the rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. the staff are friendly and helpful, offering suggestions for restaurants and providing shuttle service to the airport. the pool is clean and inviting, perfect for a relaxing dip. There is also a gym available to use.

The noise levels in the room could be disruptive, with sounds from outside and other guests not being adequately enforced.

I recently stayed at Uruka Lodge for a couple of nights and had a fantastic experience. The owners and their adorable dogs were incredibly kind and welcoming. The shower was great and the fan provided a nice breeze. The property felt very safe, with a gate that could be opened with a phone plan. The pool and sunbathing area had a stunning view, and the whole place was beautifully furnished and modern. The hosts cooked us a delicious casados for dinner, and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed and sheets. The continental breakfast with a view was a wonderful surprise. It's conveniently located just a short drive from the airport.

The view from the hotel was absolutely stunning, with beautiful hills in the background. The pool was also a great feature, providing a refreshing way to cool off. the owners of the hotel were very welcoming and accommodating, making sure that I had everything I needed during my stay.

There were a few negative aspects to my experience. the breakfast options were limited and I missed out on having a proper meal.

We stayed at Uruka for our 1st night in Costa Rica. We wanted to be west of the airport as we were headed to the pacific coast the next day. Our flight was delayed, but Sergio assured us there would be no problem. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, the property felt safe and secure, and the rooms were spacious, modern, and beautifully furnished. The pool and sunbathing area offered a fabulous view. The hosts cooked us a delicious casados and provided a tasty continental breakfast with a view. Only a 10-15 minute drive to the airport, making it very convenient. Sergio and his wife were really good hosts and went out of their way to make our experience special. We were actually surprised when Sergio offered to pick us up from the airport on short notice. The location of the hotel is perfect for those who want to be close to the airport but still surrounded by beautiful nature. We loved being able to relax by the pool and enjoy the super quiet place while waiting for our flight.

our recent stay in alajuela was wonderful, but our family holiday at uruka lodge was truly exceptional. from the moment we arrived, sergio and his family went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, providing airport transfers and even helping us with our mobile phone. the pool was beautiful, and the owners were incredibly hospitable, allowing us to use their kitchen and serving us breakfast in the mornings. the location was perfect, especially for those traveling north. overall, uruka lodge exceeded all our expectations and made our stay truly memorable.

Located 20 minutes from the airport, the hotel offers free one-way pick-up service. Bus service available nearby to city center. Nice site with pool. Shared kitchen has clean fridge and camping-style cooking. Includes breakfast, wifi, and supermarket nearby. Staff is helpful and accessible. Lovely sunsets.

In terms of breakfast selection, it would have been nice to have a bit more variety or options available.

At Uruka Lodge, we got great value for our money with comfortable rooms and a lovely pool surrounded by beautiful plants. The location was convenient, being not too far from the airport, and the staff treated us like family, helping us with everything and even giving us a ride to the bus station for free.

The morning meal could have been improved with more variety.

The hotel was not as glamorous as it appeared in the pictures. the rooms were in need of a deep clean and some maintenance, as the fans were dusty and squeaky.
